Powered by a 540 mAh Li-MnO₂ disposable battery, the Scout delivers up to 3 years of uninterrupted operation with zero charging or maintenance during its initial battery cycle. BLE broadcasts emitted by the device are detectable through the global BLE crowdsourced detection method, enabling last-seen visibility, movement insights, and proximity-based awareness without the need for GPS, SIM cards, Wi-Fi, or cellular connectivity. 
 
An integrated audible buzzer provides fast, precise on-site recovery capability, assisting users in locating items within drawers, bags, offices, hotels, or cluttered environments. 
 
Platform access is included only for the duration of the supplied 3-year battery. During this period, users receive proactive device management including geofence alerts, movement notifications, BLE detection logs, device-health monitoring, and event history. This stands in contrast to consumer platforms such as Apple “Find My” and Google “Find My Device,” which offer reactive, last-known-location functionality without proactive alerting or operational oversight. 
 
After the original battery lifespan concludes, users may continue platform access at a nominal monthly subscription fee.
